ABOUT ME

WHERE I COME FROM

I am a lifelong Plano resident who, like many people from here, is proud of my hometown and the education I received here. My first job was bagging groceries at Parker & Independence, and I've been working ever since. After graduating from Plano Senior High School, I was the first person in my family to go to college and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin. I then studied law at South Texas College of Law - Houston, finishing with Juris Doctorate.

WHAT I DO

After several years learning at other law firms, I started my own business law firm in 2012, and have owned my own firm ever since. I am currently a managing attorney at Johnson Friedman Law Group, where I advise businesses ranging from startups to publicly traded companies in the board room and the courtroom.

I've spent years giving back to our community, starting with board service with the Anti-Defamation League since 2012. I have also served on the board of Grace to Change based in McKinney. I'm a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy and Leadership Plano Class 36, and recently finished my term as chair of the Leadership Plano Board of Advisors. The City of Plano graciously entrusted me to serve on its Board of Adjustment, for which I am in my second term. I have also recently joined the board of the Plano Leadership Works Foundation, the charitable arm of the Chamber of Commerce.

WHAT DRIVES ME

I'm most grateful for the opportunities I have every day to enjoy life with my high school sweetheart and wife, Amber, and our three sons, Banner, Quinn, and Knox - all of whom are Plano ISD students. Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, we'll have kids in elementary, middle, and high school in the district.

Education is the Foundation

I have seen firsthand how important a quality education is to providing students foundational knowledge and self esteem to excel when they get their diploma. Whether they're going straight into the workforce or extending their studies.

I am running to serve on Plano ISD's Board of Trustees because we need strong leaders who know the Plano community and are willing to roll their sleeves up to preserve PISD's legacy as a trailblazer in Texas education while navigating its evolution through the change it is undergoing. I am ready to do this work because I believe my kids, and every child in the District, deserve the very best education our community can offer.
